Fundraising in times of a pandemic
Since a few years I am a member of the Soroptimist International club Enschede Dunya and I love the fact that I am part of a diverse and like-minded group of women who advocate for human rights and gender equality. Each year we develop fundraising activities to support a local or global project that shares our mission to help women and girls access their human rights.
This club year (2020/21) we needed to start looking for completely new ways to create community and raise money. A time where in-person events would not be possible. But connecting and showing each other that we care and think of each other feels even more important than ever. So designing a set of postcards – to show and spread some love and encouragement – seemed like a perfect idea. Working together with other local women artists we have created a beautiful range of unique greeting cards – the Dunya Art Cards. Therefore, each artist could interpret the the theme of power and beauty of women using their own medium and style.
I am happy that I could contribute to this project together with these other 5 amazing artists from Enschede:
Where to buy the Dunya Art Cards?
Hop on over to our Etsy store to buy the cards and support Amader Nir.
And if you live in Twente, you can also purchase the hole set of cards in the online shop of Concordia and thereby support one of our local shops and cultural institutions in Enschede.
All the money earned from selling our products goes to a charity we support. Currently we are raising money for Amader Nir, a safe house in Dhaka, Bangladesh for women and children who are homeless or victims of trafficking.
